John, above, was enrolled as a ‘Skills for Life’ learner at our training centre in Halliwell, Bolton and went on to put his skills into practice on a work placement.

 

 

Qualifications

Once individuals have completed their Maths and English courses, they can go on and take a short test to gain a nationally recognised qualification. Tests are taken on a computer and are free, last around an hour and can be undertaken whenever it is convenient.

The qualifications that can be achieved are: -

Certificates in Adult Literacy Levels 1 and 2

Certificates in Adult Numeracy Levels 1 and 2

They measure skills at the same level as other national qualifications: -
